Street Lights

outfit of the day by zelanthropy
Christmas is just around the corner and you can really feel it here in the Philippines. Two weeks ago, the University of Santo Tomas started to light up their Christmas display. That's when Wil contacted me to do a collaboration for my blog. How can I say no to this talented individual. We discussed about doing a night shoot and maximizing the Christmas display in UST.

Grab a tee

It has been a while since I have gone to a temple. My family and I visited a temple in Pasay before heading to Robinson's place Manila earlier.

Smelling the incense inside Pao Ong Kong temple felt nostalgic. I remember my sister and I going to temples with our father when we were younger. It's quite sad that we weren't permitted to take photos inside the temple. The interior of it was a beauty. I think that most Buddhist temples have outstanding architecture and interior design.

After, my family and I went to Robinson's Place manila. My brother was going to buy some clothes so my sister and I decided to buy some as well. When going to RP, the only clothing brand that pops into my head is Grab a tee.

Here are some great finds.

I'm so loving this navy striped shirt.
It's the perfect casual tee for summer.
Retail price P299.00 (USD 7.25)

Peplum madness! I was having a hard time in choosing which color to buy.
In the end I got the purple one. I might just go back to buy the blue one too. They"re both fabulous and comfy to wear.
Retail price P299.00 (USD 7.25)

Grab a tee's price point ranges from 200 to 300 pesos.
I so love their clothes. It's comfy, trendy and it"s really affordable.
Visit them by clicking the link below.

Then we went to Greenwich to have our mirienda.

Everyone's excited to eat! We ordered the ultimate special overload.

My adorable parents ♥

My brother's drinking iced tea like there's no tomorrow.

Nothing beats spending quality time with your family.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I hope you enjoyed reading.

Until my next post.

Hi everyone! It's been a while.
Today I'll be sharing with you my first Outfit of the day post. Yehey!
white lace dress from BAYO

The white lace dress was unexpectedly big for me so i cinched it on my waist with a slim pink belt. I find that clothes from BAYO are too big for me even if it's already in size (S). I love love love this lace dress so I just find ways to work with it. Pink's an interesting pop of color so I decided to pair my white dress with this hot pink shoes from JELLYBEAN.

Bags won't hurt you!

Yup you got it right. It's not bad for a girl to have alot of bags cause it won't hurt! Specially when it's custom made and with good quality. Recently I've searched facebook for online stores that offer color blocked bags and clutches and I've stumbled upon Glam Rock Manila. It's an online store were you can find awesome satchel bags. What's more is that you could also customize your order to your liking. They have a variety of materials you could choose from to mix and match. Yup you could say that it is an ultimate one-stop shop were you could create your own masterpiece! Here's what I got from them.

Sweet Honey and Pink Satchel bag

I love this bag alot! It's so cute and is easy to pair with any clothes. This baby got such good comments even from my co-workers.

Two tone clutch

I personally don't own alot of clutch bags so when I got this I was like "oh my gosh! It's so pretty!" It's very basic so I wouldn't have any problems matching it to my outfits. Also it has a strap so when i get tired carrying it or worry that I might leave it somewhere I could just pop out the strap and it becomes a sling bag.

I was happy with the items I got that I re-purchased one more for my sister. I browsed their page and found that they've released a new collection which was the Brandy bags. It was so cute and I thought that my sister would love it. At first I couldn't find any color available that my sister would like. Fortunately, Ms. Diane (the owner of glam rock manila) told me that she still had a yellow and red brandy on hand. It was a blessing from the skies. I instantly placed my order. When I got the package I instantly handed it to my sister. She absolutely adored it! She said that it was so cute.

Well I have to say.. They sell quality bags at such low price. Yup and also they have unique designs you could choose from.

Price breakdown:
Honey in Pink - P 850.00
Two tone clutch - P650.00
Cute and bold Brandy - P 450.00

VERDICT!

Pros:
1.) Unique designs you could choose from
2.) Doesn't cost alot unlike branded satchel bags.
3.) Lightweight! I hate heavy bags.
4.) Variety of materials you could choose from
5.) They accept custom made orders

Cons:
1.) It took forever to get my order.. hahaha I'm always an excited buyer so yeah I always want to receive my orders on time.
2.) I had an item custom made but came out differently than what I ordered but they were able to fix the problem by changing my order.

Will I repurchase?
Maybe? I can't say for sure but they've been releasing quite alot of gorgeous designs!

To whom do I recommend this?
Practically anyone who loves bags. Students of course who wants to incorporate attitude and personality to their uniforms and for fashionistas who love to incorporate bags to their accessory range.

Where can I find them?
Their online store: Glam Rock Manila

I would like to extend my appreciation to Ms. Diane Austria of Glam Rock Manila for being patient with me throughout our whole transaction. Thank you so much for these lovely babies! Until our next transaction. ♥

Well I guess that's about it!
Until my next post!

Because women are born to be goddesses

While clothes may not make a woman, it certainly has a great effect to her self confidence. I believe that every woman deserves to be beautiful and stylish on her own way. This was my inspiration when I created my thesis Credo under the fashion design category. The main idea for my collection came from the Nordic goddesses. For me they embodied the contemporary women of today. FIERCE and BEAUTIFUL.

Here's some of the pieces for Credo's first collection.

Red a-line dress with embellishments inspired from goddess Iduna, the goddess of youth.
This dress will give you a youthful vibe. Also the embellishments are so pretty!

Gold pleated dress with studs inspired from the Valkyries.
The stud detailing represents a shield. Cool right?

Embellished A- line dress inspired from goddess Freya.
I'm most proud of its intricate details that gives off that tribal look while still
looking feminine and beautiful. It reminded me of the amazons in Greek mythology.

This green one shoulder dress was inspired from goddess Syn. It's simple and classic.
A dress that would give you an instant glam factor without going over the edge.

A fully embellished dress inspired from goddess Frigg.
The animal prints matched with the intricate details give off a bold and edgy look.
It's fierce look is the perfect interpretation of what a contemporary woman is.

That's about it. To see the whole collection, visit Credo's facebook page.
Show some love and like Credo :)

I hope that this would inspire more creative minds into exploring other possibilities while uplifting the spirits of woman in the society.

ART turned STYLE

We've all been seeing pastels and neons invading the fashion scenes this 2012. Different prints from animal to floral continue to catch our eyes. The question is "What's up for us this 2013? "
Well this is what I've come up after seeing Resort's Pre-Spring 2013.

Historical art movements have invaded the fashion world. This 2013, designers have been envisioning a more emotional trend reflecting our surroundings, classic and timeless with a twist of life. My forecast for this 2013 will be about art movements turned into style! :)

Art movements have molded and strengthen the culture of our society today. We encounter it's influence everyday. Who would've thought that this would  be the main focus of designers for this coming 2013 pre-spring collection. So what art movements have tingled the creativity of the designers this 2013 pre-spring collection? Read further to find out! ^_^

1.) Art Nouveau

This was a popular art movement during the19th century. Its was derived from french meaning "new art". Basically a form of contemporary art which was inspired by natural forms and structures, not only in flowers and plants but also in curved lines. Nature and society were the common subjects for this art movement.

Incorporating this fun movement to your outfit will certainly add personality to your daily office life. Wear your character and stand up by mixing prints together. Remember that it's okay to pair big prints with small prints (opposites attract)

2.) Expressionism

Expressionism started in the 20th century. It's a movement were artists distort their subjects or use techniques like brush strokes or textures to evoke mood, expression or idea. This movement aims to express meaning or emotional experience rather than physical reality.

Painting by Jackson Pollock; Sculpture by Kate McGuire

Do an edgy twist to your outfit by complimenting textures with prints. A basic white button down top paired with a printed enigma skirt gives a hint of sophistication. Top it off with a tailored blazer for a more edgy look. To finish your look, accessorize with snake skin and metals. :)

3.) Contemporary Art
Best described as art produced after World War II.
Sculpture by Aaron Moran

Futuristic minimalist is a simple yet creative way to express your inner self. Deviating from strong palette colors as main motif will give a more soft look. Choose an outfit with geometric prints. It will add height and form to your body (it's all about accentuating your curves) Pairing your outfit with a tailored blazer would add edge and sophistication. Compliment your outfit with geometric accessories and your all set.

4.) Renaissance
Called as the golden age of art history, renaissance is a cultural movement which spanned from the 14th to the 17th century. In this period, artists desire to depict nature's beauty was very strong. They paid much attention to symmetry, perspective and anatomy that enabled them to produce countless works of art.
Painting by Michelangelo

Classic and timeless.. Modernizing a renaissance look is easy. Pick an outfit with symmetrical prints. Compliment it with patterns that show lines and perspective. Also add renaissance factor to your outfit by moving with the earth palette. Show off a hint of royalty by adding a pop of blue to your outfit (the color blue was first discovered during the renaissance period and only royalty could afford to buy blue colored paintings)

5.) Pop Art
Pop Art emerged in the  mid 1950's. This movement incorporates mass culture such as advertising, comics and popular icons as subjects. It's concept is not the art itself but the attitude and concepts it leads to.

The main trick to creating a pop art inspired outfit is to play on prints and color. Play with icons and animated prints as focal point to add personality to your outfit. Use neons and contrasting colors to create wow impact and accessorize with arm candies to bring your look together. :)

It's amazing how great art has affected our trends. I was ecstatic after seeing the Resort's pre-spring collection. My personal favorites would be Versace, Alexander McQueen, Etro and Cavalli! They never seize to amaze us by producing innovative and stylish outfits!
With all being said, 2013 will surely be a year full of style and innovation. It makes me think of what's next to come and what might happen in the following seasons. :)

Which is your favorite movement and why? Comment down below and share your thoughts with me. I'm excited to hear from you! ^_^
