My online shopping experience with The Vanity Zone

I recently encountered an online make up store called The Vanity Zone upon searching for online sellers of elf products.
I asked the owner Ms. Bea questions regarding some products I have in mind to order and she eagerly answered as much as she can. I was glad that she had the patience to answer all of my questions. I love shop owners who talk to their clients. It makes the clients feel that you are trustworthy.

I ended up ordering a Rimmel fix and perfect pro primer, an Elf eyelid primer, and a Wet and Wild coloricon bronzer. Our transaction was fast. It was Monday when I finalized my order with Ms. Bea, I paid for my due the same day and she told me that she had my order shipped the same day as well.

My package came today (Wednesday). Her courier (Fastrack courier) called me to verify some details regarding my address earlier today. We found out that there was a slight problem with the address written on the receipt. My package was supposed to have been received yesterday(Tuesday) but their messenger had difficulties locating our house. All is well because Fastrack called to verify with me my address and I was able to receive my package. I was so grateful for this. In the past I have experienced losing my package with a courier and it drove me crazy! I almost didn't want to shop online ever again. I am so glad with the vanity zone teaming up with fastrack courier. They both give good and fast service to their clients.
OMG! Ms. Bea was ever so sweet to include some chocolates in my package ♥ I was super kilig at the sight of these snacks! Thank you so much The Vanity Zone for the fast transaction. I love your service and attitude. My transaction with you was one of my best shopping experiences ever. Until our next one!

For those of you who are looking for a good and reliable place to shop for authentic US brand cosmetics, check out The Vanity Zone.

Until my next post.

REVIEW: Sunsilk weather defense

Hi ladies! Ever had problems with frizzy unmanageable hair? I know I do. I personally have coarse frizzy hair and it is frustrating to always feel bad about yourself because your crowning glory is a mess. Good thing Sunsilk came out with their weather defense line including the shield and shine serum and the shield and frizz control light cream

Both product claims to:
  1. Help control frizz and maintain hair style and shine.
  2. Balance the level of moisture in the hair.
  3. Help shield against damaging UV rays.
  4. Non-sticky when applied to the hair.
Well, let's see how well these babies perform.
First up is the shield and frizz control light cream.

Consistency: Liquidy
The consistency of the product is super light and is very easy to spread to the hair.
Smell: Overpowering
I am not a fan of the smell. People sensitive to fragrance might not want to use this product.
Price: P50.00

Next up is the shield and shine serum.

Consistency: Sticky
A pump or two of this goes a long way.
It has a sticky consistency but once applied to the hair it doesn't feel oily at all.
Smell: Better than the shield and frizz control light cream. It still smells like the other Sunsilk products but lighter.
Price: P177.00

Now let's test it out.

First I'm applying the shield and frizz control light cream followed by the shield and shine serum. Instructions in the box says that you should start applying from the length of the hair to the tips.

Here is the result after applying the light cream. It did sooth my hair from all the frizz but you can still spot some tangles and flyaways.

Here is the result after applying the serum. You won't see it much in the photo but my hair looked much better after applying the serum. It gave an extra boost of shine to my hair and it calmed most flyaways. My hair is ready for styling now.

What I like about the product:

Affordable

non-sticky

Doesn't feel heavy
Doesn't oil up my hair

Calms frizzy unmanageable hair

Makes my hair look shiny and healthy

Can be used for heat protection
Can be used for styling
Portable, easy to carry in my makeup stash

What I don't like about the product:
Overpowering smell of the light cream
Effects last only for a short period of time

Tips:
  1. Using the serum before washing your hair helps de-tangle the strands and minimize hair fall.
  2. Avoid putting any product near the roots of your hair to avoid your scalp from producing extra oil.
  3. Spread product evenly on the strands of your hair.
  4. A little of the product goes a long way. Do not over pile product to your hair if you don't want your scalp to produce more oil.

I think that using the serum alone will already give you good results. On my case, I felt that using both products together worked best for my hair type. It makes my hair feel super soft and shiny. I also tried using the products as a pre-wash and it worked wonders. It de-tangled my hair and made it easier to wash. Shedding out about P200.00 isn't that bad if you can get good results.

Would I recommend this product?
Definitely! This two products are a must try especially for people who have dry and frizzy hair.

Where can I find this product?
Available at all grocery/drugstore outlets with Sunsilk counters.

Well, that concludes my review. I hope that I was able to help you guys out.

Free Cure Natural Aqua Gel Samples

Hi lovelies! Look what I found while I was at Beauty Bar yesterday.

photo from google

Yes! Cure is now available here in the Philippines. If you guys didn't know, Cure is a famous brand all over, Asia, the world.

WHY?
Because it is the most gentle exfoliating product you could use to remove dead skin cells in your face/body. Cure claims to help remove (0.01 mm) of your dead skin and dirt while supporting the regeneration of your skin.

FAQs about Cure:
  • 90% of the product is made out of water.
  • It's preservative free, coloring free, mineral oil free, and artificial fragrance free.
  • It sells like pancakes. They can sell a bottle for every 12 seconds in Japan. Now ain't that amazing?

Why am I hyping about this product?

Let's slip a side story here..

When I spotted this brand on one of their shelves, I instantly tested it out on the back of my hand to see how it works. After a few minuets of rubbing the product, a certain "libag" like texture appeared and the sales person told me that it was the formation of my dead skin cells. After I used the product I noticed that the back of my hand felt smother and softer. What's amazing is that the product itself was just like water (no fragrance, no color, and the consistency was really just like water). That's when I realized why a lot of people have been raving about this product. Unlike other exfoliating products, cure has no harsh texture that might cause your skin micro cuts and scratches.  I wanted to try this out first before purchasing because I have real sensitive skin. If I buy a bottle of this and got an allergic reaction, all my money will go down the drain (btw it costs P1,500.00, it's pretty expensive). Luckily they are giving away free samples for us consumers to try out.

Zoom in to view what the pamphlet has to say.
Each pamphlet has 2 sachets so you can enjoy this sample twice.

Isn't this great news? Anything free and amazing for me is worth the hype. So if you girls wanna try this product out, come and visit the nearest beauty bar in your area. Just ask for a free sample to the person assisting you and viola. Pamper yourself afterwards okay? ☺

I hope you enjoyed reading and if you ever tried this out, please let me know your thoughts about it. I'd love to hear from you guys.

Until my next post!
Go be beautiful ladies.

Summer Natural Lips Tutorial

Hi girls! Need to run errands and you look dull and lifeless? Or maybe you're hitting the beach and you need a natural look. Well here's an easy trick you could do to get that natural flush on your lips.

I'm using Burt's Bees natural lip balm in pink Blossom and Sleek Blush in Flushed 935.

The golden rule: Before applying any color to your lips, you'll need to moisturize it first.

After moisturizing you can now add color to your lips.

Get your favorite matte blush and apply generously on the lips.
The following steps are optional.

If you feel that you put in too much color, you could always blot your lips with a tissue paper.

Don't forget to check if you blotted out too much color! If you did, just reapply some again.

You'll notice that after blotting your lips will get dry.
You'll need to put on lip balm again so that your lips won't crack up.
After that you're good to rock!
This is a simple, fast and easy way to get natural looking lips without spending too much.

Beauty essentials for summer

Hi folks! The heat is on. Summer had been real intense this year and the drastic change in temperature lead me to changing my beauty routine. I've been using these products for the past couple of days whenever I'm going out and I've really enjoyed using them. Here are my top weapons to fight off the heat and humidity.

#1) Sunsilk weather defense light cream and serum
Number 1 on my list is hair care products simply because whenever I go out, my hair is the first spot that the sun affects. I've recently discovered Sunsilk's new line and I've been enjoying it quite a lot. It helps me fight off harmful UV rays and it also tames frizzy unmanageable hair. Read my review about this product here.

#2) Nivea Sun whitening daily face fluid
Sunblock is a definite must have this season. Aside from preventing your skin from being burnt, it also prevents you from getting skin cancer, dark spots and skin aging as well. Some people take this for granted that's why I think that people should always be reminded to apply sunblock whenever they are going out. I love Nivea's sun whitening daily fluid because it doesn't feel oily when I apply it and it doesn't break me out.

#3) Alba un-petroleum lip balm in cherry SPF 18
I always make sure that I moisturize my lips all the time. Whenever I neglect it, my lips tend to crack up. Mind you it doesn't look attractive, not even the slightest. There are also lip balms incorporated with SPF in the market. It can give you moisture while protecting your lips from the sun. What I love about this lip balm is that it is all natural and it doesn't have petroleum in it.

#4) The face shop Lovely ME: EX BB cream SPF 20
I always apply BB cream whenever I go out because it not only provides UV protection but it also evens out my skin tone. I refrain from using foundation because it feels so heavy and I wouldn't be able to stand feeling sticky throughout the day due to the heat. Lovely ME:EX BB cream gives me sufficient coverage. It gives a dewy finish and it doesn't feel too thick on the skin.

#5) 4U2 Dream girl BB powder
I have oily skin that's why I always use setting powder to prevent looking like a walking oil blob outside. Given that it's hot and humid this summer, it's a guaranty that I'll oil up a lot. 4U2's BB powder is one of the best drugstore powders I have every tried. It's a perfect match for my skin tone and it gives a great finish. It doesn't look cakey when applied and it is very affordable. Plus the packaging looks so cute!

#6) Revlon Lip Butter in Macaroon
I'm a huge sucker for lip products and I simply love the fact that Revlon's lip butter has a light texture, good pigmentation and good lasting power. This is just the perfect lip product for this season.

I believe that protecting your skin is a top priority this summer. After all, you only get to have one skin and your skin deserves to be treated and protected.
