What would life with out makeup brushes be? In the past, makeup brushes tend to be very expensive because only high end brands carry them. Luckily today one can easily buy all sorts and kinds of it. Usually department store brands like ELF and even landmark carry good quality yet inexpensive brush sets. Another great place to gain access to quality yet inexpensive brushes are online sellers. Chic Cosmetics Manila is an online shop who carries wonderful dupes for sigma brushes. They were one of the sponsors for the makeup workshop that was organized by Makeup Hub. We were given a 7 piece brush set inclusive to the workshop fee. Super sulit diba?

The sleek, cute and sturdy blue packaging really reminds me of Sigma's Mrs. Bunny essential kit. The name of the shop is embedded on the upper and lower part of the tube case and has a clasp mechanism to secure both ends together. Oh and the packaging is made out of leather so yey you for leather fanatics out there. ☺
Upon opening, you'll find the 7 essential brushes inside the tube. I was overwhelmed with the smell of leather when I first opened the kit but it faded away after sometime. Can you see the resemblance of it to the Mrs. Bunny essential kit? Even the color is closely matched.
The packaging is really brilliant. It protects the contents inside the tube from germs and external forces that may damage the bristles so this would be perfect for travelling. Since the content area is quite big, I can still squeeze in some of my individual brushes.
Now let's talk about the brushes. Inside the tube you'll find three big brushes (for the face) and four small brushes (for the eyes/eyebrow/lips).

The large powder brush
It is soft, full and has a round shape. It's used to apply setting powder to your face. You can also use it for blending.
The large angled/contour brush
It is soft, angled and commonly used for contour and blush. You can also use it for highlighting.
The foundation brush
It is flat, dense and has a tapered tip. It's used to apply foundation, concealer or any cream or liquid product.
The large powder brush

It is fluffy and has a tapered tip. It's commonly used to blend away pigments or eye shadow. It's perfect for contouring the sides of the nose and crease of the lids.
The pencil brush
It has a pointed tip. It's commonly used for detailing, smudging or precise makeup application on the eye area. I also use it for precise lip color application.
The small angled brush
It has a flat tip. It's used for lining the eyes or defining the brows.
Look at how dense each brushes are. They can pick up a lot of product and distribute it evenly to the skin. It's also super soft so rest assured that it won't scrape or scratch your delicate skin.
I've already used the brushes a couple of times and washed them for three times already but I still haven't encountered any shedding or bleeding from the bristles. I tried tugging the bristles from the ferrule but still no shedding whatsoever.
The handles are pretty sturdy and lightweight. One downside though is that the bristles absorb liquid products quite fast. I also don't know why but it seems that products tend to really stick on the bristles of the brush. It becomes quite a hassle to clean.

Even with all the downsides, I'm still hands down to the versatility of this brush set. It just gives you everything that you'll need in one tube case.
Would I recommend buying this product?
Yes! If you're looking for a perfect travel brush kit or you're just tight on the budget and want multitasking tools then better check this brush set out.
