DIY: Home made Lip Scrub

Hi Lovlies! Here's a quick tutorial for you all.
It's been awfully cold these past few days and I've been road testing lip products so I needed to do something about my chapped lips. I thought why not do my own lip scrub. So here's a tutorial for you guys.. It's quick, easy and everything can be found in your kitchen.

Let's start!
tutorial, lip scrub, how to make a lip scrub, DIY, easy lip scrub, lip scrub tutorial, organic lip scrub, best lip scrub, affordable lip scrub, home made lip scrub, protect your lips, lip care

What you'll need:
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. honey
1 tsp. Pure Vitamin E Oil (you can also use Olive Oil)

The basic components of a lip scrub is:
Honey is a natural substance used to cure dryness and irritation. It has anti bacterial properties to prevent inflammation and is also great for hydrating the lips. It will bind your mixture together making it more effective.

Sugar is great for exfoliating. The tiny particles help get rid of dead skin and other impurities. When mixed with honey, it become smoother to lather.

For added moisture and skin benefits:
Vitamin E Oil is great for intense skin repair. It's also a good moisturizing agent that will help cure your chapped lips.

Olive oil is a great natural oil that helps repair and moisturize the skin. It's great for making masks and scrubs. Read more of its beauty benefits here.

I ended up using Vitamin E oil because I don't have any olive oil at the moment. You can add in other elements which you think could moisturize or repair your lips like Aloe Vera gel or Petroleum Jelly.

Instructions:
  1. Mix Everything together. It should have a sticky consistency.
  2. Apply to the lips and scrub with a circular motion.
  3. Leave it for about a minute for the lips to be able to absorb the mixture's goodie benefits.
  4. Wash off the mixture and pat lips to dry with a napkin.
  5. Apply your favorite lip balm.
Viola! Perfectly smooth lips. Hope this helps all chapped lips out there ☺

Go be beautiful Bellas!

Hi lovelies! How is it going? I hope everyone's doing fine. It's been awfully rainy this past few days. Today I wanna talk about this bronzer that I've purchased sometime ago from The Vanity Zone. I actually wasn't planning on buying this but Bea (the owner of the vanity zone) said on one of her posts that she adored this so much and she highly recommended this so I just gave in and bought myself one. I'm telling you guys, buying this was one of the best decisions I made (with regards to impulse buying). I never imagined this would be a staple in my makeup stash.

Much like a highlighter than a bronzer, this baby comes in a really big pan. The shade that I got is in "Reserve Your Cabana". It has a warm undertone so I think this would be suitable for most filipinas since Asians tend to bend on the warmer side of the color wheel.

Viral: Picture! Picture! An Olay Mini-movie

Hi lovelies! I opened YouTube today to play my favorite YouTube cover artist Alex Goot's soundtrack. While waiting for the video to start this advertisement caught my attention. Picture! Picture! A mini movie ad by Olay.

Plot: Chino (John Llyod) is a wedding photographer who spots a girl crashing his events and ruining his wedding photos. Blah blah blah.. Just watch it guys ☺ It's only 15 minutes.

My thoughts about this ad campaign..

I love the videography! It's well thought of and as you guys can see, pinaghandaan talaga ang production niya. Even for only a non-traditional advertisement this is really well made. Olay is becoming quite viral nowadays with their ads. The last I've watched was Truly, Madly, Smoothly and I loved it so much.

Hmm..That's why I got disappointed with this short film. I don't like it's plot too much. I know it's June and it's the wedding month so maybe they tried to be cohesive with the thought but yeah I don't find the story very appealing. I like the Truly, Madly, Smoothly way better than this one. You guys can watch it too and be the judge ☺

One thing I appreciate though is that although their model is fair skinned they don't literally push that being white is beautiful. The message they are trying to deliver is more of natural beauty and how it can catch attention. This part, I really appreciate it.

I've seen hate comments on YouTube about how Olay is not choosing Filipinas to be their models. Guys sshh muna tayo. Malay natin sa next mini movie diba? Let's just hope and pray. Stop the hate and spread the love ♥

With all being said, I am anticipating for the next mini series if Olay will still keep on producing it. I love the fact that they put much effort to non traditional advertisements today. I think they are one of the pioneers after Dove came out with their inspirational campaigns.  And please Olay, come up with better plots. Bawi kayo. Aja Fighting!

What do you guys think of this mini movie? Do you like it?

How to organize your blog photos

how to organize your blog photos, photo width, adjust your photo width, strealined blog photos, how to increase blog traffic, better blog visual, improve blog visual, blog tutorial, organizing blog photos

Hi every one! How are you all doing? You know, one thing I really hate is waking up in the morning and checking my blog with photos of mismatching widths. It just drives me crazy. I always thought that blogger will instantly do magic to my photos and render it all prettily with a streamlined feel. Guess what, I was wrong. Lately I've been trying to self study html to see how it works. I searched the internet for tutorials and guides on how I could improve my blog's visual. I wanted to be able to customize the sizes of my photos on my blog entries that's why I tried every means possible to be able to find an answer. Let's face it, it's much more entertaining to read a blog with clear, big and organized photos. One article that really helped me a lot is Streamlining Photo Size by little chef honeybee. Feel free to check it out ☺

Ooohh your thinking that this tutorial will be hard to understand ei? Don't worry! You don't have to be a pro coder or techie chum to get this. If your a blogger who wants streamlined photos without editing everything in Photoshop then this tutorial is for you. Go grab yourself a cup of coffee then let's get this show started. I hope you guys are ready

The first thing you need to know is the size of your content area. The content area is where your posts shows up. Normally it's either on the left side of your blog (beside your sidebar) or at the center (in between your sidebars).

content space, how to organize your blog photos, photo width, adjust your photo width, strealined blog photos, how to increase blog traffic, better blog visual, improve blog visual, blog tutorial, organizing blog photos

To do this go to Template >> Customize >> Adjust Widths

how to know the content width, how to organize your blog photos, photo width, adjust your photo width, strealined blog photos, how to increase blog traffic, better blog visual, improve blog visual, blog tutorial, organizing blog photos

Here you'll see the whole measurement of your blog page. Now we have to do the math! To find out your content space width: add both the left and right width measurement and subtract it to your entire blog measurement.

Example: 210 + 210 = 420 (side bar measurements) ;

1200 (entire blog measurement) - 420 (side bar measurement) = 780.
780 is now your content space.

Review: Chic Cosmetics 7 piece brush set

Chic cosmetics cover photo, chic cosmetics manila, chic cosmetics 7 piece brush set, best brushes, great affordable brushes, travel brushes, brush set, brush case

What would life with out makeup brushes be? In the past, makeup brushes tend to be very expensive because only high end brands carry them. Luckily today one can easily buy all sorts and kinds of it. Usually department store brands like ELF and even landmark carry good quality yet inexpensive brush sets. Another great place to gain access to quality yet inexpensive brushes are online sellers. Chic Cosmetics Manila is an online shop who carries wonderful dupes for sigma brushes. They were one of the sponsors for the makeup workshop that was organized by Makeup Hub. We were given a 7 piece brush set inclusive to the workshop fee. Super sulit diba?

Now let's get on to the review.
Product Overview:
Brand: Chic Cosmetics Manila
Product name: 7 piece brush set
Brush Material: Synthetic
Price: P 1,250.00
Available at: Chic Cosmetics Manila

The sleek, cute and sturdy blue packaging really reminds me of Sigma's Mrs. Bunny essential kit. The name of the shop is embedded on the upper and lower part of the tube case and has a clasp mechanism to secure both ends together. Oh and the packaging is made out of leather so yey you for leather fanatics out there. ☺

Upon opening, you'll find the 7 essential brushes inside the tube. I was overwhelmed with the smell of leather when I first opened the kit but it faded away after sometime. Can you see the resemblance of it to the Mrs. Bunny essential kit? Even the color is closely matched.

A make up workshop like no other

Hi Lovelies! How are you all doing? Yesterday I've posted an entry regarding a meet and greet event that I've attended which was organized by Makeup hub by Naturale Collezione. I've also mentioned on that post that I've signed up for their workshop event. Yes! I was one of the lucky girls who got to personally meet the fab 4 gurus and have an in-depth workshop about basic to advance makeup application.
make up hub

The workshop fee was P3,500.00 inclusive of a brush set from Chic Cosmetics Manila, a makeup loot from Makeup Hub by Naturale Collezione, workshop handouts and materials, plus food.  I must say it's pretty sulit for a whole package workshop.
Say
Our course started with Say teaching us the different types of skin and how we should prepare our face prior to make up application. She gave us an in depth knowledge of the different types of foundation and the different tools we could use for its application. She also demonstrated the proper application of foundation and how we could find the right shade for our skin color.
Foundation matching with Noe
Here Noe personally taught us how to mix foundation to achieve the perfect shade that would match our skin color.

Meeting the Pinay Gurus

Hi bellas! I'm super duper sorry for the late update. I've just been busy attending events and whatnot. As most of you beauty junkies know, Makeup Hub by Natural Collezione recently organized an event called "A make-up workshop like no other". The biggest catch is that the instructors for the said event are renowned pinay beauty gurus from youtube namely Ana Patricia Victorino, Noe Mae Villagonzalo, Say Tioco Artillero and Joyce Sola. Prior to the workshop (which I signed up in), they held a meet and greet event for the fans to be able to meet their idols and get to know them more. The attendees were required to submit an rsvp to be able to get a slot. Luckily I was able to get hold of a slot together with my good ol' friend Sherlyn.

We arrived earlier than expected at the venue. Early birds as they call it, we were given the opportunity to choose where we wanted to sit. Yey!
The Lounge
Sponsoring the event was Chic Cosmetics Manila and Ciate Philippines. Ciate was giving free manicure makeovers during the event and being the kikay girls that we are, Sherlyn and I lined up at the manicure station to get our nails done.

Hot looks: Cannes film festival 2013

Cannes Film Festival
Photo from stylebistro. Edited by yours truly.

Hi beauty bellas! I just browsed the web for makeup inspirations from the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. The artists looked amazingly gorgeous on the red carpet. I just love how creative they can get with their looks. Not to mention their outfits were all sensational ~ ♪. For this post, I compiled my favorites to share with you all. Let's be inspired together!

NEON POP
barbara palvin
Photo from stylebistro. Edited by yours truly.

A brilliant look from the ambassador of L'oreal Paris. Barbara Palvin was totally rocking her neons on the red carpet. The bright pop of orange on her eyes and nails instantly became the focus of her entire look. It's also nice that her orange makeup enhanced the appearance of her blue eyes. She snatched the walkway looking hip, young and fun.
Tip: Wearing bright colors will add life to a dull looking outfit.
